The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 16-0 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday without completing a single pass, marking the first such occurrence since 1974. In the same stretch, the Indianapolis Colts lost 42-7 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a defeat that prompted calls for immediate personnel changes in the front office and coaching staff. These two games defined a week of volatile results across the league.

The Buccaneers' victory was a historic anomaly in a game played in heavy rain. Baker Mayfield attempted only three passes, resulting in zero completions. Tampa Bay recorded 258 rushing yards, a total that, combined with their zero completions, had not been seen since 1933. The defense held Michael Penix Jr. to eight completions on 24 attempts, forcing four interceptions. This performance capped a streak where the Buccaneers ranked first in EPA per play and first in turnovers forced.

In Indianapolis, the Colts' offense produced a first-half sequence of punts, a fumble, an interception, and a kneel-down. Trevor Lawrence threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 attempts for the Jaguars, averaging 15 yards per attempt. That figure represents the highest rate by any quarterback in a game with at least 10 attempts over the last two seasons. The Jaguars also averaged 5.5 yards per carry, with only one of their 33 rushing attempts resulting in negative yards.

The loss intensified debate over head coach Shane Steichen and running back Jonathan Taylor. Stephen Holder, a media analyst, noted that Taylor is attempting to lead but is not naturally a vocal figure in the locker room. With the team facing a multi-year rebuild and lacking a competent quarterback, many argue the Colts should trade Taylor. Minnesota has been cited as a potential destination due to its own struggles in the running game.

The Minnesota Vikings also faced scrutiny after losing 19-15 to the Detroit Lions. Quarterback Kyler Murray finished 17-for-29 for 210 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while taking three sacks. TruMedia data showed that five of his 29 passes, or 17.2%, were off-target. His average time to throw was 3.20 seconds, the highest of his career. Head coach Kevin O'Connell stated that the team must continue to find alignments where Murray is most comfortable, though frustration grew as wide receiver Justin Jefferson declined postgame media availability.

The Cleveland Browns lost 27-6 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, extending a regular-season winless streak in that matchup to 2003. Deshaun Watson was sacked eight times, bringing his total for the last four games to 22. Despite the poor statistics, analysts suggest keeping Watson because the alternative starter, Shedeur Sanders, faced similar pressure issues last year and the offensive line remains inconsistent.

The Cincinnati Bengals required overtime to defeat the Tennessee Titans 43-36, with Joe Burrow throwing for six touchdowns. The defense ranked 16th in EPA per play but led the league in fourth-down defense and third in sack rate. Dexter Lawrence provided a late-game save in regulation. The Bengals' offensive line and pass rush continue to perform at an elite level, supporting an attack where Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both recorded 10 receptions and 140 receiving yards.
