Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was transported to a local hospital following a neck injury sustained in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions won the matchup 19-15 at Ford Field, but the contest took a pause when Campbell was injured while defending the pass.

With 14:48 remaining, Campbell attempted to tackle Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson. Teammate Jimmy Rolder struck Hockenson from the opposite side at the same time, causing Campbell to collapse. He lay motionless on the ground facing down for nine minutes while medical staff immobilized him on a board. He was subsequently carried off the field on a cart without signaling to the crowd.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided an immediate update to the media after the final whistle. He described the situation as one where the team is waiting for further medical details. "Thoughts and prayers are with Jack and his family," Campbell said. "He’s being taken care of. We don’t have any new information. We’ll keep you updated as this thing goes. But we are thinking about him. We are thinking about him."

Campbell is a 26-year-old, fourth-year professional who earned first-team All-Pro honors last season. He recorded three tackles in Sunday's game before the injury. His season totals include 57 tackles, following a career-high 176 in the previous campaign. During the nine minutes on the field, he remained breathing and alert upon leaving the turf, according to the head coach.

Quarterback Jared Goff described the incident as frightening for the team. "Jack’s deal was definitely scary," Goff told reporters. "It just brings you back to reality for a moment that he’s a husband and a father. Scary. We’re praying for him and hope he’s going to be alright. If anyone is tough enough to get through something like that, it’s going to be him."

The Lions will monitor Campbell's condition in the coming hours. The team has not scheduled a specific press conference to provide further medical updates beyond the initial postgame remarks.
