Riquelme Fillipi found the back of the net in the 90th minute on Wednesday night to rescue Inter Miami from an early deficit and force a 2-2 draw with FC Cincinnati. The strike marked Fillipi's first goal in Major League Soccer and came after a chaotic final stretch of play in Miami.

Luis Suárez gave the home side the lead in the 61st minute. Cincinnati responded with two goals in the closing stages. Kenji Mboma Dem leveled the score in the 80th minute. Six minutes later, Samuel Gidi scored his first MLS goal on a counterattack, finishing from the top of the box to put the visitors ahead.

Fillipi equalized by connecting from the left side of the box, a spot nearly identical to where Suárez had scored earlier. Cincinnati had a final chance to win the match in stoppage time. Evander shot from around the penalty spot, but Inter Miami defender Ian Fray blocked the ball. The subsequent corner kick did not threaten the goal, and the game ended in a stalemate.

The result leaves Inter Miami in third place in the Eastern Conference. New England Revolution beat Red Bull New York 3-2 on Wednesday to reach 58 points. Miami has 56 points with two matches remaining. Both clubs need points to secure a better seed position.

Miami travels to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday to face New England. The winner will likely take the No. 2 seed in the East and the MLS Cup playoffs. This is Miami's next-to-last regular season game. The team finishes the season at home against Charlotte on Nov. 7.

For Cincinnati, the draw was a setback. The club needed a win in Miami and a loss from Columbus to Dallas to guarantee a playoff spot. Cincinnati continues to pursue a postseason berth. MLS also announced that Cincinnati will play Miami again on Feb. 19 in the opening game of the Sprint Season, a shortened campaign before the league's new schedule begins in July 2027.
