Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 18 rebounds in his first victory with the Miami Heat.

The Greek star also scored 24 points to lead Miami past the Atlanta Hawks 129-117 on Wednesday night in Atlanta.

This result ended a four-game losing streak that followed the Heat's offseason acquisition of Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee. Bam Adebayo contributed 24 points and nine rebounds for the visitors. Andrew Wiggins added 18 points, while Pelle Larsson provided 17 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. The Heat shot 53% from the field and scored 70 points in the paint.

The Hawks dropped their third consecutive game after starting the season with two wins. Kingston Flemings and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each scored 23 points. Jalen Johnson finished with 12 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds on 4-for-12 shooting.

Atlanta played the first half of a home back-to-back. The start of its Thursday game against Cleveland was delayed by one hour to allow the WNBA Finals Game 6 between Atlanta and Golden State to be played at State Farm Arena in the afternoon. The Heat built a 34-25 lead in the first quarter after making 15 of 23 shots. They held a 69-56 advantage at halftime and extended their lead to 18 points late in the third quarter on a three-pointer by Tim Hardaway Jr., who scored 14 points off the bench.

The Heat will host Indiana on Friday. The Hawks face Cleveland on Thursday.
