Luis Parada, 57, stood accused of holding a teenage girl in a sex trafficking operation that lasted roughly two years. The alleged abuse began when the victim was 15. She is now 17.

Suffolk County police arrested Parada at 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers executed a search warrant at 4 MacArthur Ave. in Brentwood. Two other men from the same neighborhood were also taken into custody on drug charges.

The case began about two weeks ago when Third Squad detectives referred a lead to the Human Trafficking Investigations Unit. Investigators suspected a teenager was being exploited at the MacArthur Avenue address. That referral triggered the warrant that led to the arrests.

Police said Parada raped the girl. He also arranged for other local men to pay him for sex with her. Detectives are looking into whether narcotics played a role in the trafficking scheme. They have not yet determined if drugs were used to control the victim or if they were part of the exchange.

During the search, officers took a 1987 Winnebago, 22 cellphones, a replica firearm, a machete, and various electronics. They also collected forensic evidence. The operation involved the Crime Scene Section, Third Squad detectives, Third Precinct patrol officers, and investigators from the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.

Parada faces charges for third-degree rape, sex trafficking of a minor, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was held at the Third Precinct overnight. His arraignment is set for Wednesday, Oct. 28, at First District Court in Central Islip.

Rigoberto Celisgarcia, 48, and Amado Campos, 59, were each charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both received desk appearance tickets for a later date at the same court. Police say detectives are still reviewing the case to see if additional charges will be filed against any of the three men. The Human Trafficking Investigations Unit is asking the public to call 631-854-7512 with information.
