A private jet traveling to the Bahamas crashed on Sunday afternoon in Greenacres, Florida, killing all nine people aboard. The aircraft nosedived into the area, creating a large burning crater and sending debris across nearby properties. Power lines fell in the immediate vicinity of the impact site.
The crash forced authorities to evacuate a mobile home community in Palm Beach County. County officials stated that approximately 600 residents are expected to be relocated while investigators examine the scene. Two county shelters were placed on standby, and Palm Tran buses were prepared to transport residents once they were cleared to leave.
Roxana Pérez was grocery shopping when the plane fell. Her family described the moment of impact as a loud thunder. Debris landed on cars and homes in the area. Pérez said her home lost power and she is among those forced to leave. A reporter found her waiting near buses for a ride to reunite with her family.
Natalia Rios lives outside the mobile home community but was blocked from returning to her own residence. The area remained closed off as emergency crews worked. She described standing and waiting to get home.
Joel G. Flores, District 3 Commissioner, identified the point of impact as being on Military, the entrance to the mobile home park. He declared the site a crime scene where investigators are active. Flores said residents could not stay in their homes until the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office gave the all clear. He anticipated that most people would be in shelters by the end of the night.
As the investigation continued, some residents were permitted to return to their homes. Donna Massa had waited for hours without knowing the extent of the damage. She was allowed to go home and expressed relief at finally being able to enter her residence.
The crash occurred on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Authorities are continuing to manage the evacuation and investigation at the site in Greenacres.
