KN Surveying, LLC, has been named a winner of the Hawaii Business Magazine’s Excellence in Business Award. The recognition was announced on November 1, 2026. The company accepted the honor with a focus on the value of excellence, which it states has guided its operations since its founding.
KN Surveying began in 2000 as a one-person, part-time operation. It was formally established in 2005. In 2017, the firm transitioned into a full-time, full-service company. This expansion was supported by First Hawaiian Bank, which has been a financial partner with the firm since 2017.
The company currently provides boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveys, along with construction stakeouts, elevation certificates, and shoreline certifications. Its client base includes state and county agencies, federal entities, and private parties such as homeowners, architects, engineers, realtors, and developers.
Field operations are organized into four crews led by Party Chiefs. An office team of three licensed Project Managers and five Project Surveyors supports these field teams. The company attributes its ability to deliver accurate and timely results to the close collaboration between these field and office staff.
KN Surveying emphasizes continuous learning as a driver of growth. The firm holds regular staff meetings and training sessions to evaluate new technologies. Management notes that the company frequently asks, “How could we have done it better?” to foster a culture of teaching and improvement.
The company is located at 1733 Liliha Street in Honolulu. It can be reached by phone at 808-524-7100 or via its website, knsurveying.com. The firm stated its goal is to operate as a well-oiled machine that serves clients well into the next generation.
