Former Vice President Kamala Harris described the current presidential administration as the most callous, corrupt, and incompetent in American history while campaigning for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections. She made these remarks during a speech on Monday at an event supporting David Crowley, the Democratic nominee for governor in Wisconsin.

Harris accused the White House of pursuing an agenda of brutality against Americans. She stated this view twice during her address. Although she heavily criticized President Donald Trump's character and leadership style, she did not use his name during the speech. Instead, she focused on the conduct of the current executive branch.

The former Vice President contrasted her candidate with the opposing party's nominee. She told the audience that a leader's strength is measured by who they lift up rather than who they beat down. Harris said, "Unlike some other people who are constantly looking in the mirror, David is looking at the people. That's the kind of leader we want."

Specific policy attacks were directed at Rep. Tom Tiffany, the Republican challenger in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race. Harris noted that Tiffany supported efforts to overturn the 2020 election based on claims of widespread fraud that she called unsubstantiated. She framed the upcoming vote as a test of democratic norms. "Let's talk about the fact that David's opponent denied the election of 2020," Harris said. "By the way, we won. Yes, you can call me former madam Vice President. We won that election."

Crowley, who is running against Tiffany, described Harris as a huge mentor to him. He also noted that his wife is a fan of the former Vice President. In response to their close association, Tiffany posted on social media accusing Crowley of sharing Harris' political positions. He cited support for higher taxes, benefits for undocumented immigrants, and Green New Deal policies that he argued would increase energy costs.

Harris has visited several key battleground states in recent weeks to campaign alongside Democratic candidates. She has appeared with Aaron Ford in Nevada, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, and Chris Pappas in New Hampshire. This increased activity has led to speculation about her future political plans. In September, Harris told NAACP leaders in Detroit that she has not yet decided whether she will run for president again in 2028.

"I do sincerely believe '28 won't matter if we don't get through '26," Harris said during that September event. Her comments underscore the Democratic strategy to focus on the 2026 cycle before determining the path to the next presidential election.
